CRTC+ Career Communications

Not Your Typical English Class!

The CRTC+ Career Communications course is a great addition to any student’s CRTC experience. This half- or full-credit English course is designed to combine the career-focused education students get in their CRTC programs with the communication skills they’ll need on the job.

Career Communication students learn to read and digest professional articles and journals, speak to peers and industry professionals, run meetings and write everything from work orders and job evaluations to professional emails and business letters.

They meet with and interview industry professionals, gaining authentic insights into workplace procedures, challenges and opportunities. Students can earn a full high school English credit by adding an ELO element to the class, where they get involved in more extensive job shadows and worksite visitations.

In CRTC+ Career Communications:

  • Students focus coursework on their career interests and ambitions
  • Students upgrade their communication skills to be more workplace-ready
  • Students enhance their college and career readiness

The CRTC+ Career Communications class is available to all CRTC students for high school English credit after they’ve completed one semester with us.
